Integrating Walk & Talk Into Practice
for Mental Health Therapists- Recorded Workshop
Are you a therapist interested in taking your practice beyond the four walls of your office? Do you work with clients who might benefit from the reduced inhibition that comes from walking side by side? Do you feel totally overwhelmed thinking about the logistical and ethical aspects of taking sessions outdoors?

If you answered yes, this workshop is for you! I was once an indoor-therapist, working in a dimly lit, windowless office, and came to realize it was not in full alignment with my long term sustainability and wellbeing as a therapist. Taking sessions outdoors changes therapy- allowing for a co-created experience to unfolds as we walk and talk side by side, immersed in nature, and grounded by birdsong, the breeze, and moss-draped trees. The experience of walk and talk therapy offers additional benefits that don't exist in the office.
This workshop will cover:
-
A look at the benefits and risk of the walk and talk format
-
How to get set up for walk and talk sessions
-
Best practices for consent, billing, screening, liability
-
A basic understanding of ecopsychology- the mind-nature connection
-
The psychological impacts of various natural environments
-
3 experiential interventions that can be used during walk and talk sessions
-
"What I Wish I Knew When I Was Getting Started..."

Following registration, you will be emailed a link and passcode that you can use to watch the recorded workshop.
