This live, online workshop takes place on Tuesday March 18th, from 12-1 PM Pacific Standard Time. A recording will be provided to attendees and to those who register but can not attend live. A $20 USD fee is due at time of registration. Full scholarships are available upon request for those who want to attend but find that cost is a barrier. Meet the Host
Aimee Frazier is a mental health therapist and the owner of Portland Hiking Therapy, a private practice specializing in hiking therapy. Her work as an eco-therapist has been featured in the New York Times and the Mazamas Bulletin. She is an avid hiker and a Mazamas mountaineer. Aimee holds a Master's degree in Clinical Mental Health Counseling and a Bachelors degree in Health and Human Kinetics. Read more about her here.

A look at the current research on hiking & mental health

How hiking supports stress reduction, improves mood, offers psychological perspective on difficult life issues, rejuvenation, increases creativity, supports social connection, increases confidence and a sense of personal empowerment.

How hiking may reduce symptoms of depression, anxiety, PTSD, ADHD, and act as a buffer from developmental trauma for those experiencing childhood abuse or neglect.

How hiking connects us to ourselves, others, nature, the land, and something larger than ourselves.

An understanding of what makes hiking meaningful for you.

A basic understanding of ecopsychology- the mind-nature connection.

Following registration you will be emailed a link that you can use to join the live Zoom workshop. If you can't attend live, you can still register and receive a recording of the workshop.
This workshop is educational in nature, meaning, it not a therapy session or a substitute for seeking mental health therapy. Participants are encouraged to seek therapy if they are seeking support for their mental well-being.
